Button

Version A:

Button up and button down
Button lost, button found,
Button which is always round,
Beauty be butt button bound!

Balancing you along my line,
Uttering this word of mine.
To be flat, ON solid ground,
To be that; OR be around!

Open is the button sewn,
Nobly rolling, never down.
Darkened by the time that binds,
Sunken by the rhyme that hides.

Finish this, you shalt discover,
Where the button lost, you will uncover.
Honest is the button true,
Never knew that time runs new!

Version B:

Button up; button down,
Button lost and button found.
Button which is always round,
Beauty be butt button bound!

Balancing you along my line,
Uttering this word of mine.
To be flat, ON solid ground,
To be that; OR be around!

Open is the button sewn,
Nobly rolling, never down.
Darkened by the time that binds,
Sunken by the rhyme that hides.

Finish this, you shalt discover,
Where the button lost, you will uncover.
Honest is the button true,
Never knew that time runs new!

I believe this song applies to the tale of the button the most, though it was not listened to at the same time I think that bares no consequence, the button is a round metaphor and so may perpetuate its meaning at any point in time, from creation of the wheel to this poem.

“Popin' is the button, but never Stopin'!”
